LEO

LEO (Low Earth Orbit) is a low Earth orbit, a few hundred to a few thousand kilometres above the Earth’s surface. Satellites in LEO orbit typically have a higher velocity than satellites in higher orbits, such as Geostationary Orbit (GEO). LEO orbit is often used for communications satellites, scientific research, Earth observation and other purposes.
